Asthma and Educators
Asthma Educator Institute is designed for respiratory
therapists, nurses and pharmacists with some background in asthma.
The course has been developed in accordance with the 1997 American Lung
Association/American Thoracic Society Asthma Task Force Guidelines for
the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma, as well as the 1997 National
Institute of Health Asthma Guidelines.
The workshop provides participants with the knowledge and tools necessary for
the successful assessment and management of patient asthma. It also provides
them with the tools and resources to help prepare for the national

Counting On You…Responding to Kids
with Asthma teaches childcare providers how to identify and
manage asthma in children in their care environment. The workshop includes
an asthma handbook specifically written for the care provider. For more

Exercise & Asthma For many
adults and children with asthma, physical activity can bring on serious
asthma attacks if proper precautions are not taken. Workshops and information
are available to physical education teachers, recreational coaches and
instructors, as well as any adult who supervises children engaging in physical
