The American Lung Association's Asthma Educator Institute is a two-day workshop for individuals who want to improve their ability to provide asthma education to patients and their families. This is a preparatory course for the National Asthma Educator Certification Exam sponsored by the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB). Many workshop attendees go on to take the Asthma Certification Exam to become a Certified Asthma Educator (AE-C).

Who's it For?
The course is designed for health care professionals who work with asthma patients, including nurses, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, pulmonary function technologists, physician assistants, case mangers, and health educators.

This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Wisconsin Nurses Association Continuing Education Approval Program Committee, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

This program has been approved for 12.25 contact hours Continuing Respiratory Care Education (CREC) credit by the American Association of Respiratory Care
